Does turning off SysMain increase performance?

The Sysmain Service In Windows 10, Previously Known As Superfetch, Is Designed To Improve System Performance By Preloading Frequently Used Applications And Data Into Memory. While Disabling Sysmain May Reduce Memory Usage And Free Up System Resources, It Is Unlikely To Result In A Significant Improvement In Performance.

In Fact, Disabling Sysmain May Even Have A Negative Impact On Performance, Especially If You Have A Large Amount Of Ram. This Is Because Sysmain Is Designed To Take Advantage Of Unused Memory To Preload Frequently Used Applications And Data, Which Can Improve Application Launch Times And Overall System Responsiveness.

That Being Said, If You Have A Relatively Small Amount Of Ram, Such As 4Gb Or Less, Disabling Sysmain May Help To Free Up Memory And Improve Performance. However, For Most Users, It Is Generally Recommended To Leave Sysmain Enabled To Take Advantage Of Its Performance Benefits.
